Identified
We’ve continued to investigate this issue and have narrowed the impact to Samsung Pay tap-to-pay transactions at Square card readers. At this time, we do not believe Apple Pay or Google Pay are affected.
As a workaround, please ask customers using Samsung Pay to use a physical card to tap, insert, or swipe, or to pay with another wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay where available.
Our engineering teams are actively working on a fix specific to Samsung Pay, and we will continue to post updates here. Thank you for your patience as we work to fully resolve this.
Investigating
We’re currently investigating an issue where some customers’ digital wallet tap payments (including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay) are being declined at Square card readers. Affected buyers may see errors such as “This card is not accepted” or “Insert or use another card” when they try to tap to pay.
As a workaround, please ask customers to use a physical card to tap, insert, or swipe at the point of sale.
We know how important it is to have payments running smoothly, and our engineering teams are actively working on a fix. We’ll provide updates here and appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this issue.
